Nettex catch up with brand ambassador, Lynn Russell
Tell us Lynn, what have you been up to?
“The most recent event was Bucks County Show which was a bit hectic for Cappa Sham. He started with the Ladies Side Saddle Class which was the busiest class so far this year. We pulled in down the wrong end of the long line up, but after the ride we progressed to 4th place which was a strong result considering the circumstances. It can be very hard for cobs to do well as some judges prefer hunters, which is a shame- the rules state it is open to all and so they should all be treated fairly. Once the Ladies Side Saddle Class was completed, it was time to head on down to the Coloured Class where he finished Reserve Champion and Reserve Supreme Coloured Champion. All in all, it was a successful day!
After travelling home on the Friday, I was back on the road to Morton in Marsh with Starfall on Saturday. He hasn’t been out for a while and needs a few miles before HOYS. I put the side saddle on him for the first time which I know was a mad thing to do considering hasn’t experienced a side saddle before but for his first time I wanted a good ride judge to take a look at him. He went really well and although we didn’t win a place (which wasn’t the reason why I entered anyway) I will certainly try again at the National Championship Show next week!
Little tip from me, I was able to get his tail really white with Nettex Everyday Shampoo which made him really stand out in the main ring during the HOYS class. I love this product!”
