Recent research developments indicate close links between the gut microbiome and the brain. [1]

  • V.I.P. Miracle Mare contains Wheatgerm Extract (WGE) which supports the microbiome, helping to optimise gut flora balance which in turn has positive effects on behaviour to support mares throughout their oestrus cycle.
  • Signs of improvement after supplementation of WGE have been observed in as little as 36-48 hours. [2]

Proven Results

Published in the Veterinary Times (2016) trials demonstrated that WGE had a statistically significant positive effect on behaviours including kicking, biting, aggression, grumpiness, bucking, weaving, squirting, diffculty tacking-up and poor performance in oestrus mares. Continuous fed supplementation in summer significantly reduced bad behaviour associated with ovulation (Fig.1).

Subsequently, cessation resulted in a return to challenging behaviour during the next oestrus cycle and this was rescued with resumption of supplementation of WGE showing significant improvements in scores (Fig.1).

Fig.1. Mean behavioural scores in mares during winter anoestrus and summer oestrus, then during supplementation with [WGE], subsequent cessation and resumption of supplementation.

Daily supplementation of WGE significantly reduced signs of bad behaviour returning scores to those seen during winter periods of anoestrus (Fig.2).

Fig.2. Mean behavioural scores in mares prior to supplementation, following supplementation at the onset of oestrus and/or challenging behaviour and during subsequent oestrus when supplementation was not given.

Behavioural signs of oestrus can be alleviated quickly

In mares supplemented at the onset of oestrus, significant improvements in behaviour were observed as soon as 12 hours and, in all cases, by 36 hours to 48 hours. Proving that dietary supplementation with WGE offers an effective, safe and cost-effective solution to the frustrating problem of challenging oestrus behaviour in mares.

My young mare has been on Nettex V.I.P Miracle Mare supplement for over a month now and I can honestly say I see such a change in her! She has been so much more comfortable with other horses especially the other geldings and we have even been told she acts as a ‘calming influence’ to the other ponies! Honestly all down to this supplement and her new yard! She is also just starting her ridden career properly now and have noticed how focused she is when schooling - really recommend!!

This is my beautiful mare Applejack. I have owned her since she was 6 months old and she is now 7. We both worked well together until last year when she turned into the devil. After trying many supplements, I got her ovaries scanned and all was clear. She was also put onto Regumate but nothing took the edge off of her behaviour. I was at my wits end almost contemplating giving up and a friend suggested that I try Nettex V.I.P. Miracle Mare. She has been on it for two weeks now and she is a different horse. She is back to my sweet, loving, kind mare who I have missed dearly. Thank you so much Nettex from both of us!

My unicorn is particularly sensitive when in season and beyond into the winter. We have tried a number of things over the past three years, some have helped a little, other things made her much worse. We started using VIP Miracle Mare this month and I honestly cannot believe the change in her. I have been so suspicious that it’s my mind playing tricks! She has ceased rearing in her stable, she is less anxious and not as clingy to me as usual. She is mega focused when we are working which has meant a massive step forward in her training! I’m delighted with the supplement, needless to say this will be our best friend from now. 🦄

My young mare suffers with her seasons and shows classic signs but can also have 'stallion like' behaviour such as mounting other horses. It has made her uncomfortable under saddle and this has meant her ridden career since backing has been very stop/start. She has been scanned, blood tested and we have tried regumate and other drugs to help but even those had no effect on her behaviour and comfort. However, she has been on this for a few weeks, through a season and it seems to be helping her. Fingers crossed this means her ridden life can be more consistent!
